BMW: “Bread, Meal, Water”

kay_blog1Have you ever been seated at a fancy banquet, silently counting forks while racking your brain for a clue as to which bread plate is yours? Is it to the right, north of the coffee cup? Or to the left, south of the centerpiece? Sure, you’ve been there.

Some people use the upscale BMW method. Going clockwise (starting at your left), you go “Bread, Meal, Water.” Others use their fingers, forming a tight “b” on their left hand (for bread) and a “d” on the right (for drink). These visual cues can ensure that you appear refined and up on the rules of etiquette.

We all have different tricks to find our way around the food terrain. At The Food Channel®, we take great insights from CultureWaves® and combine them with the food knowledge of our chefs and editorial staff. That allows us to produce great content, which we then syndicate out to others looking for ways to navigate through their daily meals.

We talk to consumers and to foodservice pros—providing recipes and stories and connecting people with that knowledge. We do new product development, new content creation, plus offer our studios for great high-res photography and video. And we have fun while doing it. A new staff member recently exclaimed, “You think of an idea, and next thing you know, you’ve created it!”

Exactly. That’s what our www.foodchannel.com website allows us to do. Come do it with us.

Just keep your bread plate to the left of your keyboard, and your beverage to the right.
