GAP recently received a ton of flak for the unveiling of their new identity. Like many others in the design community (and elsewhere) I am not a fan of the new logo. I don’t know what they paid for it, but I would ask about the return policy.

It’s simple math. I have been reminded of this equation in the last few months working with a great client. This recent relationship has been a rewarding and beneficial partnership for all parties involved. Don’t get me wrong, we love all of our clients…some just more than others. The point is, clients that appreciate the work and choose to acknowledge it with praise and respect (not just contempt and criticism), are rewarded well beyond the value of the assignment.

There are no martyrs in advertising.

Many people in our industry proclaim that this is a 24/7/365 job. That doesn’t mean to slave at the office, demonstrating to everyone how dedicated and selfless you are, while sacrificing your family and personal health. There are no martyrs in advertising.
